Introduction

Sarana Health is a holistic wellness practice designed to help members overcome many different types of wellness issues and concerns. We provide access to a dedicated care team of carried types of specialists.

Sarana Health is not a medical group or a health care provider. Sarana Health provides its users with the ability to obtain virtual online consultations.

This Privacy Policy is not applicable to information gathered by any other website operated by us or a third party. Furthermore, it does not extend to any website we may hyperlink to or that is accessible from our Platform.

This Privacy Policy excludes information gathered from users accessing the password-protected and secure sections of our Platform (“Secure Platform”). The Secure Platform permits Customers, who receive the Services, to execute specific tasks or acquire the Services (e.g., virtual consultations from providers). Any data collected or stored by us or inputted by Customers into such Secure Platforms falls under the category of Protected Health Information (“PHI”) and/or medical information, subject to relevant state and federal regulations, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”). The utilization and disclosure of such PHI adhere to the ters of this Privacy Policy We refrain from employing or divulging information obtained from the Secure Platform or your provider for advertising, marketing, or other usage-based data mining endeavors. Moreover, we do not engage in the sale of any PHI.

Visual Information consists of photographs. Internet or other electronic network activity information involves data like IP address, device model, device ID, OS version, device language, operating system, browser type, browsing history, search history, and information on a consumer’s interaction with a website, application, or advertisement. Geolocation data pertains to physical location or movements, local time, and local time zone.

The information that we may gather from or about you can fall into two categories; Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) and Aggregate Information.

Personally Identifiable and Aggregate Information

We may request and collect personally identifiable information that you voluntarily choose to disclose to us. Examples of personally identifiable information include your name, physical address, e-mail address, telephone number, or any other information that can be used to uniquely identify you.

IP Addresses

Sarana Health Inc. may  maintain internal logs for Internal Protocol (IP) addresses. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer each time you access the Internet. Your IP address does not contain PII. Sarana Health Inc collects IP addresses in order to conduct system administration, report aggregate information, conduct site analysis, and to detect improper use of the site.

We try not to speak in legalese, but there are some useful definitions we use to describe data we collect in providing the Services to you.

How do I access and correct my Personal Information?

You can review and change your Personal Information by logging into our Platform and all associated services and visiting your account. You may also Contact Us to inform us of any changes or errors in any Personal Information we have about you to ensure that it is complete, accurate, and as current as possible or to delete your account. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your account with us. We may also not be able to accommodate your request if we believe it would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

Who may use the Services?

Sarana Health operates subject to state and federal regulations, and the Platform and/or the Services may not be available in your state. You represent that you are not a person barred from enrolling for or receiving the Services under the laws of the United States or other applicable jurisdictions in which you may be located. Access to and use of the Platform and/or the Services is limited exclusively to users located in states within the United States where the Platform and/or the Services is available. The Platform and/or the Services are not available to users located outside the United States. Accessing the Platform and/or obtaining the Services from jurisdictions where content is illegal, or where we do not offer the Platform and/or the Services, is prohibited.

Other things to know about privacy

We implement physical, technical, and administrative measures aimed at preventing unauthorized access to or disclosure of your Personal Information. Our team regularly reviews and improves our security practices to help ensure the integrity of our systems and your Personal Information. Be mindful of keeping your password and other authentication information safe from third parties, and immediately notify Sarana Health Inc of any unauthorized use of your login credentials. Your password is not visible to Sarana Health Inc staff, and we encourage you not to share your password with Sarana Health Inc or any third parties. Sarana Health Inc cannot secure Personal Information that you release on your own or that you request us to release.

Third-Party Content and Integrations

Our Services may contain third-party content, integrations or links to third-party websites operated by organizations that may or may note be affiliated with Sarana Health Inc. Through these integrations, you may be providing information to the third party as well as to Sarana Health Inc. Since we can only control our own Services, we are not responsible for how those third parties collect or use your information so please review the privacy policies of every third-party service that you visit or use, including those third parties you interact with through our Services.

You may have specific privacy rights in your state or region. For example, in the United States, residents of California and other states have specific privacy rights, as well as Sarana Health residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, Switzerland and other jurisdictions.

Federal and state laws (including the federal Genetic Information Non-discrimination Act or “GINA”) provide some protection from employer and health insurance discrimination based on your genetics. 

Retention of Personal Information

We retain Personal Information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the transactions you have requested, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and other legitimate and lawful business purposes. Because these needs can vary for different data types in the context of different services, actual retention periods can vary significantly based on criteria such as user expectations or consent, the sensitivity of the data, the availability of automated controls that enable users to delete data, and our legal or contractual obligations.

Sarana Health and/or our contracted genotyping laboratory will retain your Health Information, date of birth, and sex as required for compliance with applicable legal obligations, including the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA), California Business and Professions Code Section 1265 and College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation requirements, even if you chose to delete your account. Sarana Health will also retain limited information related to your account and data deletion request, including but not limited to, your email address, account deletion request identifier, communications related to inquiries or complaints and legal agreements for a limited period of time as required by law, contractual obligations, and/or as necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims and for audit and compliance purposes.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect or sell Personal Information directly from children under the age of 18. If you are under 18 years of age, you are not allowed to use our Platform. If you are under the age of 18, do not use or provide any information on or to the Platform or through any of its features. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under the age of 18, we will delete it. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 18 years of age whom you believe might have provided use with their Personal Information, you may Contact Us to request the Personal Information be deleted.

Does Sarana Health Inc. respond to Do Not Track signals?

Some web browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature. This feature lets you tell websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. These features are not yet uniform across browsers. Our Platform is not currently set up to respond to those signals.

Data Security

We have taken steps and implemented administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect against the risk of accidental, intentional, unlawful, or unauthorized access, alteration, destruction, disclosure, or use. The Internet is not 100% secure and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted through the Internet. Where you have been given or you have chosen a password, it is your responsibility to keep this password confidential.

The sharing and disclosing of information via the internet is not completely secure. We strive to use best practices and industry-standard security measures and tools to protect your data. However, we cannot guarantee the security of Personal Information transmitted to, on, or through our Services. Any transmission of Personal Information is at your own risk. California’s Shine the Light Law

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (California’s “Shine the Light” law) permits users of our Platform and/or the Services that are California residents and who provide Personal Information in obtaining products and services for personal, family, or household use to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. If applicable, this information would include the categories of Personal Information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared your Personal Information with for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g. requests made in 2021 will receive information regarding such activities in 2020). Colorado’s Privacy Protection Act

The Colorado Privacy Protection Act allows users of our platform and/or services who are Colorado residents and provide personal information in obtaining products and services for personal, family, or household use to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. If applicable, this information would include the categories of personal information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared your personal information with for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g., requests made in 2024 will receive information regarding such activities in 2023).
